ERYT 500, YACEP
I started yoga at Jiva Yoga Center when I went looking for a new workout routine. It didn’t take long to realize that I was engaging in much more than an exercise program. I was mesmerized with how my body began to feel longer, stronger, and leaner. By attending class almost daily, I had the opportunity to experience a variety of instructors, and began to see that yoga was a mindset, an attitude and a positive way of living. I was hooked. Having spent 30 years as an educator and administrator at the elementary, secondary and university levels, I knew that as my practice evolved, I would want to share the joy of yoga with others. I completed the 200 hour teacher training program at Jiva Yoga Center with Jean Rioux and Vicki Rickard. It changed my life. Through the continued study of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, I came to understand the spiritual essence of yoga and how I want to feel about my practice, my teaching, and my life. Since my initial training, I have completed the 300 hour training program, in part, through the wise guidance of Vicki Rickard, and qualify for the E-RYT 500 hour designation and as a YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider). I am truly honored to teach yoga and to help others enjoy the power and peace that comes with committed practice.
