ERYT 500, YACEP
Yoga has given me the opportunity to experience happiness, an open heart and a healthy dose of gratitude. Through intentional breath and movement, I am able to explore the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of a yogic practice and my aim is to teach students from this same perspective.
My classes are influenced by vinyasa flow, bhakti yoga and the yoga sutra. I also enjoy sharing yoga philosophy in the form of an inspirational quote, singing accompanied by the harmonium (some of my songs can even be downloaded on iTunes and Spotify), or sometimes by providing space and silence.
My teaching career started in 2002 inspired by my sister-in-law, Jean Rioux. Additional inspiration comes from my brother, Ken Rioux, Tracy Bonner at Holy Cow Yoga Center (200 hour certification) and Stephanie Keach at the Asheville Yoga Center (500 hour certification). Continued training includes 14 years of studying yoga philosophy with most recent influence by Robert Birnberg, bhakti yoga with Sean Johnson, anatomy with David Keil and facilitator training with Live Love Teach: Debbie Williamson, Stacy Dockins and Philip Urso.
I am honored to be part of this community of students and teachers and happy to have the opportunity to share the wonders of yoga.
